Independent Living in Character Cottages & Spacious Apartments

Bridge House of Twyford, a private development for over 55s has been designed for those who are looking for every opportunity to enjoy life to the full without having the worry of maintaining their home. A collection of traditionally crafted cottages and apartments have been created using local materials and hues. All apartments have at least one en-suite bathroom and either an additional en-suite or a separate bathroom. Cottages have one family bathroom and an en-suite or shower room on the first floor. In addition, each cottage and some ground floor apartments have a private garden and some have car ports. All properties benefit from custom built kitchens and bathrooms.

Many properties are set alongside the river Loddon overlooking parkland and water meadows beyond, yet the development lies well above the local flood plain. Linked through a series of courtyards, the buildings are set around beautiful formal gardens with rose beds, an ornamental pool, bird tables, urns and appropriate seating where you can enjoy the shade or relax in tranquility.

On the ground floor, each cottage comprises a living / dining room, kitchen / breakfast room, WC and some afford a shower room and study, which can also be used as an additional bedroom. Most cottages feature a traditionally-built, centrally heated conservatory.

Each home has two bedrooms on the first floor. Both the master and principal bedrooms have the option of fitted wardrobes and have telephone and television points. The master bedroom also has an en-suite shower room. The main bathroom is situated on the first floor.

If you prefer the single level living of an apartment, the accommodation above is all provided in a layout that is designed to be bright and spacious. Apartments are also accessed via a mechanical lift.

In addition, some properties have their own private gardens and car ports, together with visitor parking. We offer a complete managed service to maintain all outdoor areas; however, residents who are also keen gardeners are welcome to apply their own flair to their private grounds.

Low level, sensor controlled lighting ensures the whole development is properly lit at all times, with external lights fitted to the porch and kitchen door of each property.
