THE VERY BEST IN RETIREMENT LIVING

Bridge House of Twyford is an exclusive collection of retirement properties for sale, set within 8 acres of picturesque gardens and stunning parkland, on the edge of the small riverside town of Twyford, in Royal Berkshire.

This charming setting enjoys unrivalled views across its own grounds and water meadows beyond and, whether you are drawn by the appeal of new homes for sale or taking advantage of a resale of our earlier phase, you can be confident you will experience the most unique choice of privately owned retirement cottages and apartments in both the area and the UK.

BRIDGE PARK – SOCIAL AND HOSPITALITY SERVICES

Each delightful property has a range of on-site facilities on its doorstep, some of which are to be built as part of the second phase of the development. This allows residents to benefit from a fully licenced restaurant, a coffee shop, a hair and beauty salon and an enticing spa and swimming pool. Undoubtedly, many residents may gain greatest pleasure from a stroll around the grounds, which offer far reaching views over the protected Berkshire countryside looking out west towards Sonning.

Phase One

Traditionally designed Bridge Park, skilfully complements the original architecture of this conservation area as well as the buildings around Twyford. Expertly built using traditional materials and building methods, the development is presented as a collection of spacious 1 and 2 bedroom independent living retirement cottages and apartments, all available exclusively to people over the age of 55. Arranged in a series of collegiate courtyard settings, most properties have their own private garden whilst also providing access to the professionally maintained communal gardens.

Phase Two

The second phase of development will see a continuation of the design and construction principles used in the earlier phase. Although we shall have a small number of single bedroom properties, the majority will consist of larger 2 bedroom cottages and apartments, some with conservatories and balconies overlooking the River Loddon. As an example, we shall be building floor areas of circa 700 square feet for 1 bed apartments and from 1,000 square feet to 1,500 square feet for the 2 bedroom apartments and cottage options.

Bridge Park – Assisted Living Apartments in Phase Two

The traditional façade belies the modern internal features and technology incorporated into our assisted living apartments, which offer a choice of 1 and 2 bedroom options. Although the properties are custom built and finished by local craftsmen using traditional materials, the latest construction technology has been employed to create an underground car park with lift access to all floors, making the properties ideal for those who prefer to live on a single level. Furthermore, a fully equipped and modern call and communication system has been installed throughout the development, to safeguard the well-being and security of all residents.

Bridge House and Bridge Court Nursing Home

The original building, known as Bridge House, has been carefully refurbished to take advantage of the property’s traditional period features. Now thoughtfully converted into a sophisticated care home, the property retains the elegance and charm of a fine Georgian country house. Adjacent to Bridge House sits Bridge Court and both Homes offer person-centred care, with residents encouraged to retain their independence. However, should support be required, the call system is in place, available for residents to summon professional staff for assistance 24 hours a day. Every bedroom is fully operational with en-suite facilities and expertly styled with elegant interiors and appropriately selected furniture. We are able to cater for those needing nursing care and also for those living with dementia.
